Refuge Golf Course Wedding – Lauren & Devin’s late summer wedding

I had a great time with Lauren & Devin’s engagement session last fall, and so I was looking forward to meeting all of their friends and family this August. They had a gorgeous day for a wedding at the Refuge Golf Course in Oak Grove, complete with cheesecake (yum!) and a lovely luncheon.

Minneapolis Wedding Photographer – Melanie & Casey’s cannon river winery wedding

Melanie & Casey chose the Cannon River Winery for their wedding, and it is a gorgeous venue set in the rolling hills of farm country. The vineyard was a fabulous setting for photos, and it contained a slightly deteriorated antique barn, which was the perfect site for their ceremony. Then on to the winery building in downtown Cannon Falls for a lovely reception featuring a stunning cake (so pretty!), lots of antique winery details, and a lot of dancing!

Video from Sara & Chris’s wedding via John Hoel Video

Many thanks to John Hoel of John Hoel Weddings for sharing the fabulous video he did for Sara & Chris’s wedding in May. I finally figured out how to embed the video (which is large) and you can see it below. Thanks!

Carly & Ryan – gorgeous weather for a southern Minnesota wedding

Carly & Ryan had a gorgeous wedding in Southern Minnesota at the end of June. I was lucky enough to spend the day with them and their friends, starting with the slightly overcast church for family and group photos, then the lovely ceremony, and then with them in the bus to the reception (via a small town). I thought the day was going pretty well, until it went even better during the cocktail hour and the sun and clouds cooperated to create one of the most beautiful sunsets!

Sara & Chris’s stunning wedding at St Olaf

Sara and Chris met at St Olaf college in Northfield, and when it came time to organize their wedding, they of course chose their lovely alma mater. They were blessed with a fabulous day (and a large group of loving family and friends), and we had great fun taking photos all around campus afterward.

Sara was a gorgeous bride, as you can see, and she chose perfect colors for her late spring wedding – bright pink and yellow gerbera daisies and blue bridesmaid dresses. Sara and Chris didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony, so we took photos of each side before hand.

And of course, all the other St Olaf alumni sang the fight song during the reception.

Laura & David – White Bear Lake wedding

Laura and David had a beautiful wedding in White Bear Lake a few weeks ago. The weather was gorgeous for photos before the ceremony, and we took advantage of it by going to nearby Matoska park for photos with the wedding party! After the ceremony, it was on to the Dellwood Hills Golf Club for a lovely reception, featuring my new favorite alternative to clinking glasses: a mini-putt golf challenge! Laura and David agreed to kiss whenever anyone made a hole in one, and, while their guests made a lot of valiant efforts, they only succeeded a few times!

Laura and David opted to see each other before the ceremony so we would have time to take photos at the park, and so we set up a little “first viewing” so that they could spend a few moments together before all the family arrived.

Also of note, the groom’s best man was his twin brother. Luckily Laura warned me before I got too confused!

Melissa & Mark – beautiful late summer wedding and a fun first dance

Melissa & Mark were married a few weeks ago in the Marshall area. Not only did they have a gorgeous late summer day for their wedding, but Melissa’s home church is a stunning gem amidst the corn fields of southwestern Minnesota. It doesn’t hurt that they had a very energetic wedding party, and a truly adorable son who was on very good behavior!

Melissa is a gorgeous lady, so it was no suprise that she looked so stunning in her gown.

Mark also looked pretty dapper in his suit!

After the ceremony, the bridal party all went to a local railroad museum and park for photos.

Mark and Melissa surprised everyone with their first dance – a recreation of the last scene from the movie “Dirty Dancing”.

And, oh yes, they even did the lift!

It was such a pleasure to work with you guys and your families, I can’t wait to finish the rest of the photos!
