Michaela & Paul – A wedding at the Walker

Michaela & Paul were married at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. Not only did Michaela and Paul bring their own creativity to the wedding, but they had the fantastic planners from mi mi to pull everything together.

Emily & Kurt – A perfect summer wedding in Minnesota

Emily & Kurt were married in Minnesota and had a beautiful summer day. Kurt went to college at UW-Madison, so there were lots of people after my own heart.

The colors of the wedding were bright and vibrant, and it made for a wonderful summer feel.

After the ceremony, Kurt and Emily and I went to a local park in Spicer to take some photos with just the two of them. I am so happy for them that the weather was so nice!

And then onto the reception, where the cake looked gorgeous.

Sarah & Tim’s engagement photos (plus family!)

Sarah and Tim were neighbors that fell in love. I think it is an adorable story, and so when they decided they wanted engagement photos, the natural location was their backyard, where they met! We shot some photos with Sarah’s daughter and the two smaller members of the family – the dogs.

And, of course, Tim’s motorcycle. I don’t know much about bikes, but I know that this was a beauty.

I can’t wait until their wedding in November!

Nicole & Ben – Minnehaha wedding and stylish reception

Nicole and Ben had two ceremonies to celebrate their wedding – this second service at Minnehaha falls was a stylish summer affair.

At the falls, we had some time to play around and take photos around the park.

Nicole and Ben had a large and fun bridal party as well

After all the photos, there was a ceremony, complete with a breaking of the glass.

The reception was at Five, a former restaurant turned fabulous venue

Ben’s brother DJ-ed the reception with flair

Nicole & Ben – a first ceremony

Nicole and Ben were married in two ceremonies, and I was lucky enough to be invited to capture both. Since the two night to-do left me with a lot of photos to process, I am posting the ceremony in two parts: here are the photos from their first service at the Temple of Aaron in St Paul.

After the ceremony, we gathered everyone for a large group photo before they headed to Market BBQ for dinner in Minneapolis.

Family portraits by lake Michigan

A few weeks ago, I drove down to Racine, Wisconsin to take photos of my great aunt, who is also a great aunt 🙂 Because all of her children and their families were in town (for the first time in several years), we did lots of large family photos:
