Kayla & Robert {engaged}

Kayla & Robert are very fun folks, and I am so excited that they chose me to photograph their May wedding in Madison. But before that, they wanted engagement photos amidst the fall leaves. We were able to find a day without rain (difficult this year in Wisconsin) for photos at the pheasant branch reserve in Middleton. I can’t wait to photograph you two again in May!

Liza & Ian – portraits at the UW Arboretum

Liza and Ian are friends from my old camp days at Phantom Lake YMCA camp. As you may know, camp makes strong bonds (very strong in their case) and it is my total honor that they chose me to be their wedding photographer for next year. Liza is a very intelligent and caring woman, and Ian is one of the funniest people I have known, besides being a great chef and all around good person. It can sometimes be difficult to photograph friends, but we had a wonderful time at the University of Wisconsin Arboretum this fall, and then back to their house for a few photos while playing word games.

Kate & Bret’s wooden chapel, cajun band & barn wedding

Kate and I went to the same high school and Bret is an accomplished hobbyist photographer, so I knew that the stakes were high when they hired me. They also live in Florida (with Bret’s university and interesting mouse research – awesome!), and planned the wedding in southern Wisconsin. Luckily for me, they had a very dramatic sky, tons of fun friends, and a totally killer location, complete with a wooden chapel and an old wooden barn for the cajun band – they made my job so easy and enjoyable! Thanks so much for choosing me, guys, and good luck with all the researching!

Kate & Bret – preview

Kate & Bret had a lovely Wisconsin wedding, and while it may have been a little cool for them, the weather was perfect for photos! Here is a little preview before I finish editing the rest!
